Cycling. Road – There will not be one, but two French ProTeams in 2025!

Bas Tietema and his acolytes Josse Wester et Devin van der Wiel have no shortage of ideas and projects, to say the least. After having hit on YouTube with their offbeat videos around and having created a professional cycling team in 2023, the TDT-Unibetwhich they managed to bring into ProTeam after only a year of existence, are they not inventing a new model of sponsorship and naming? In 2025, the TDT-Unibet will in fact bear a franchise name: Unibet Tietema Rockets ! A first in the history of cycling… and yet that is not what is most surprising in the announcement made this Thursday by its leaders.

Bas Tietema: “Each cycling team starts with one dream, the Tour de

No, what is most confusing is that the Dutch team will race under a… French license from January 1st! This passage under the French flag is linked to the acquisition, authorized by the French Competition Authority a few weeks ago, of Kinkred Group – who notably owns the brand Unibetthe main partner of the future Unibet Tietema Rockets – by the French Games. The TotalEnergies of Jean-René Bernaudeau will no longer be the only French team in the 2nd division. Every cycling team starts with one dream, the Tour de France.”begins by declaring Bas Tietemathe owner of this team which stands out in the world of cycling and brings a lot of freshness to it.

We have been working towards this dream for a long time and have probably already exceeded the expectations of many. We are very proud of the development achieved so far and we are now taking a big step towards realizing this dream. To do this, we must develop the level of our riders, attract more international partners and tell our story in the best possible way. Our goal is to be the best team to follow for cycling fans around the world. With the Rockets’ new identity, we are taking a big step forward in creating a sustainable organization and hopefully accelerating our growth as a team.”concludes the boss of a team which will have four French people in its workforce in 2025, Killian Verschuren (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Development Team) joining Adrien Maire, Axel Huens et Baptiste Huyet.
