Four recruits for U23 Cycling Project Gedzilla.com – News

U23 Project Gedzilla.com announces four recruits for next season. These are Martin Deschatres (AC Bisontine), Mathieu Jelsperger (UC ), Maël Le Bourvellec (VC Dolois) as well as Simon Combes who is making his return to competition.

Martin Deschatres, 26 ans – our photo -, will be licensed at VC Eckwersheim. This season, he won the Grands Prix de Sarrebourg, Haroué, Hyper U in Gueberschwihr and Artisans in Wintershouse. He also finished 2nd in a stage of the Tour de Guyana (5th overall), the Critérium d’Erstein, the Grand Prix des Carreleurs and Vendenheim, 3rd in the Grand Prix de Sentheim, 4th in the Grand Prix de Haguenau and Lampertheim , and Tout Eckbo à Vélo or even 9th in a stage of the Tour de Côte d’Or (16th overall). He has 22 Top 10s (see its DirectVelo file).

Simon Combes, 27, will be signed to Sprinters Pistards Eckbolsheim. He is returning to competition after a year’s hiatus. He had already played in Alsatian clubs at the start of his career, at Erstein and VC Unité Schwenheim, before going to CR4C , AC Bisontine and Cross Team Legendre. In 2021, he won the Tour de la Manche and the Tour du Beaujolais. For his last season in 2023, he notably finished 2nd in a stage of the Tour du Pays Roannais (see its DirectVelo file).

Mathieu Jelsperger, 23, will be licensed at MJC Buhl. In 2024, he placed 4th in the Critérium de Saint-Louis-Trophée Priméo Energie, 7th in the Grand Prix des Artisans at Wintershouse and 8th in a Ronde Nancéienne event.

Maël Le Bourvellec, 21, will be licensed to AC Erstein 1978. This season, he finished 28th in the Grand Prix Enduiest and 29th in the Prix du Saugeais.
