The À Travers chants choir, founded in 1978 in Loué, has around twenty choristers at the start of the 2024 school year. Under the artistic direction of Fabienne Geslot, choir director, this ensemble is distinguished by the diversity of its repertoire.

The choristers rehearse to welcome their German counterparts at the end of October. This meeting is part of the 55e anniversary of the twinning between Loué and Harpstedt (Lower Saxony).

A declining workforce since the Covid-19 pandemic

Mireille Noir, president of the choir, explains: “ We will perform on Sunday 1is December in the Loué church. Some years there were up to 45 singers. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, our workforce has decreased significantly and the average age of our group remains relatively high. We are therefore looking for new members, men and women. No musical skills are necessary to join us except perhaps singing in tune. But singing improves through exercises and self-sacrifice ».
