The president of the Alemannic Mass-voll movement, Nicolas Rimoldi, is back at the Federal Palace thanks to the invitation of the Valais National Councillor Jean-Luc Addor (UDC/VS). On Tuesday, the latter tabled, with a handful of UDC colleagues, a motion calling for amnesty for all convictions related to the Covid-19 law.

“The Federal Council is invited to take all necessary measures to cancel all criminal sanctions imposed under the Covid-19 legislation and to reimburse the fines imposed and legal costs collected in this context,” he wrote, without specifying what amounts this could involve.

According to him, “the Swiss population has been seriously affected in its fundamental rights, to an extent sometimes never seen before” and evokes a “dark period in the history of our freedoms”.

That said, this motion has almost no chance of succeeding, as the Swiss people have approved the Covid-19 law three times at the ballot box: in June 2021, November 2021 and June 2023. Each time, they accepted it by 60.2%, 62% and 61.9% respectively.
