You may have these shrimps in your fridge. On Tuesday, September 10, the official website Rappel Conso issued a double recall concerning refrigerated thawed raw shrimps and thawed whole raw prawns. The former were sold by the Pescanova Krustanord brand in Intermarché stores throughout France. The affected products have the GTIN code 3306080137061 and belong to three different batches 74366, 74700 and 74844. These raw shrimps targeted by the recall have three use-by dates set for September 9, September 15 and September 16, 2024. They were sold in a 2-kilogram plastic tray and put on shelves between September 3 and 6, 2024. They display the FR 62.160.121 CE health mark.

The second product recall concerns a pack of whole raw defrosted prawns with the safety mark FR62160121CE. These prawns have the GTIN code 3254562419603 with batches 74246 (with a use-by date of 07/09/2024), 74205 (with a use-by date of 07/09/2024), 74452 (with a use-by date of 10/09/2024) and 74526 (with a use-by date of 11/09/2024). These different products were sold throughout France, in Auchan stores and all other brands selling the brand’s products.

This double recall was decided following the detection of Vibrio vulnificus.Foodborne illness caused by Vibrio vulnificus can occasionally result in mild gastrointestinal disorders in healthy individuals, but also in severe non-intestinal disorders (generalized infection/septicemia) in susceptible individuals or those with pre-existing chronic conditions.“, details the official Rappel Conso website. The platform also emphasizes that skin infections are likely to occur from pre-existing injuries when handling contaminated products.

If you have these foods in your refrigerator, it is recommended that you no longer consume them and return them directly to the point of sale to obtain a refund.
