An emblematic figure of the small screen, Dorothée left her mark on an entire generation with her famous “Club Dorothée”. But since the show ended in 1997, the host has disappeared from television radar. Invited on the set of “Quotidien” Thursday January 23, Yann Barthès did not fail to ask him: “Why did you stop?”
Dorothée bluntly replied: “Why did I stop? I was arrested.” Before qualifying: “Finally, the show stopped.” A revealing slip of the tongue? The presenter insisted: “Why were you arrested?” Evasive response from the host: “Oh, I don’t know. It stopped, it had to stop one day.”
Yann Barthès, always curious, continued: “Why didn’t you continue elsewhere or do something else?” And Dorothée admits: “I don’t know. There was no opportunity to… There you go.”
However, she clarified that this departure was not linked to a lack of desire: “It’s not the same. We’ve done quite a bit of time, and when we stop, the brain still has to react and think.”
-And does he miss television today? “Yes and no. Because I don’t want to do anything either,” she confided frankly. The door is therefore not completely closed.
A tribute show to Dorothée will be broadcast this Friday evening, January 24, from 9:10 p.m., on TF1, hosted by Nikos Aliagas.
