The day after the inauguration of Donald Trump in Washington, a controversy is (already) growing. Elon Musk, close support of the new President of the United States, made a very ambiguous gesture from the podium.
And Charline Vanhoenacker, who a few days ago still called him a “big asshole” in Léa Salamé’s show, “What a time!”on France 2, described this intervention as “Nazi salute”.
Charline Vanhoenacker immediately tackled
This January 21, 2025, in the morning of France Inter, the comedian assured regarding Elon Musk’s exit that it was “Very explicit, it wasn’t a ‘Nazi hello’… He was very forceful! He had a real erection in his right arm.”.
And to add concerning the future head of the Ministry of“governmental efficiency” : “‘Awkwardness’, some say… OK, maybe it wasn’t a Nazi salute, maybe it was a salute ‘to salute the Nazis’”.
To conclude, the former boss of Guillaume Meurice assured with irony: “And in this case, I make amends and I regret calling him a big asshole. I should have said: ‘a big asshole fascist’”.
A flood of insults which did not pass, for Pascal Praud. This Tuesday, on Europe 1, the radio host said everything bad he thinks of this column. Regular detractor of Charline Vanhoenacker, he railed: “I first notice that as always with Charline Vanhoenacker, it’s not funny, it’s never funny.”
-Pascal Praud defends Elon Musk
The CNews star took the opportunity to defend the boss of “I also notice that what she calls a Nazi salute is a hand that goes from the heart towards the public”.
And to add that according to him, there is no “There is no ambiguity about what Musk means.” Pascal Praud continues: “That is to say ‘I kiss you, I salute you’ and he takes his hand, puts it on his heart and throws his hand towards the audience.
On these arguments, the journalist asserts: “So it’s absolutely not a Nazi salute.” And to conclude finally: “But this morning, in the French press, this gesture by Musk is being exploited“.
