He made the heyday of France 5 in the 2000s by going to meet the greatest chefs throughout France. It was in 2017 that he decided to take a break from his career, tired by his pace of life. On January 10, those close to Jean-Luc Petitrenaud announced the death of the famous journalist and this Friday, January 17, his funeral took place at the Saint-Pierre-du-Gros-Caillou church, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris.

According to the announcement published in the FigaroTHE “condolences will be made in register” et “The burial will take place in the strictest family privacy.” In front of the church, many PAF personalities came to the ceremony to pay their last respects to the journalist. Denis Brogniart, Valérie Expert and Véronique de Villèle were there. Some personalities from the world of cooking also wanted to pay a final tribute to the one who highlighted cooking in all his shows, such as Laurent Mariotte, Cyril Lignac and Jean-François Piège. For this last farewell, the family imposed a dress code to the guests: “no black clothes”. A rule that many seem to have adopted (see slideshow above).
From theater to cuisine, a 180° turn
Not finding his place in the traditional school curriculum, Jean-Luc Petitrenaud headed towards a CAP in boilermaker and welder, before becoming a specialized educator. At the same time, he took theater classes and joined a circus school. He finally decided to turn to journalism when he had the opportunity to portray women on the show The four hearts, for France Bleu-Pays-d’Auvergne. He will not stop highlighting French gastronomy. Jean-Luc Petitrenaud disappears, leaving behind a whole legacy of culinary reports and shows. For the moment, the causes of his death have still not been revealed.
