Denis Law, the legendary Scottish striker and Manchester United icon, has died aged 84 after a long battle with dementia. Law was the last surviving member of the club’s revered ‘Holy Trinity’, which included George Best and Sir Bobby Charlton. Colloquially known as ‘The King’ by fans, he marked his era in the 1960s, symbolizing a glittering team that won both English and European accolades, including the European Cup in 1968.

Between 1962 and 1973, Law scored 237 goals for Manchester United, a record only surpassed by Charlton and Wayne Rooney in the club’s illustrious history. His footballing journey began at Huddersfield Town in the 1950s, and after spells at Manchester City and Torino, he joined United in 1962 for a then-record transfer fee. With his remarkable blend of speed, aerial power and charismatic personality, Law quickly won the hearts of fans.
