In her recently published book, “My children, my stars: Joys and sorrows of a mother (not) like any other” (Ed. Leduc), Mélanie Gonzalez shares sometimes traumatic episodes, such as the ordeals of miscarriages before the arrival of Calypso, her ninth child, in September 2024. She spoke about her interrupted pregnancies, which she prefers to call “arrested pregnancies”. Despite these difficult times, the arrival of Calypso brightened their daily lives.

Mélanie Gonzalez faces a new misadventure

And this Thursday, January 9, 2025, Mélanie Gonzalez spoke once again on her Instagram account to confide in the new misadventure she had just encountered. “I’ve just come back from the doctor so Calypso has bronchiolitis, I’m in the process of pulling out my hair even though I don’t have much left because I can’t find a respiratory physiotherapist. Between those that came out on Google, the voicemail is saturated so I can’t leave messages, the other, the voicemail tells me that they will surely call me back during the day. So I just had my midwife on the phone, she gave me the name. I might have an appointment, fingers crossed I’ll know before the end of the day.”

A little girl with health problems

At the end of December, Mélanie Gonzalez took to Instagram to discuss Calypso’s recent health exams. Despite the fact that it was intended to be reassuring, the situation raised some concerns. She also confided that she herself had to undergo medical checks to monitor an aortic malformation: “Don’t worry, everything is fine! I am doing tests following my malformation that I have in my aorta artery and following my extrasystoles. They are still there. Even under treatment, I still have them. So the next step will be the MRI in January and then we will see what happens next.”
