What could have been a charming story turns into a nightmare for Anne, who now finds herself devastated, ruined and deeply betrayed.
In the latest issue of Seven to EightHarry Roselmack presented the story of this poor woman who thought she was living a romance with Hollywood actor Brad Pitt.
New to social networks, Anne did not see the fake profiles and manipulated messages coming that were hidden behind the photos and videos sent by the scammer. Convinced that she was really interacting with the star, she was gradually manipulated, until losing 830,000 eurosa record amount in this type of scam.
“He sent me photos and when I did research, I didn't see those photos. So, I said to myself: 'these are photos that he took himself for me'. It's crazy, huh?“, she confided in the report before adding: “I loved the man I was conversing with. He knew how to talk to women.“

For Anne, it all started during a trip to Tignes with her husband and daughter. Freshly registered on Instagram, she quickly received a message from a certain Jane Etta Pitt.
“Very quickly, she said to me in conversation: 'it's a woman like you that my son needs'. I answer him: 'what are you talking about, you're completely delusional“, she remembered. “The next day, back from skiing, I received a new message: 'Hello Anne, my mother told me a lot about you. I would like to know more' (…) In fact, we are talking about Brad Pitt, I am amazed. At first, I tell myself that it's fake, but I don't really understand what's happening to me. Afterwards, we will contact each other every day and we become friends“.
Over time, friendship gradually turned into love for this millionaire's wife in search of companionship. “I had someone in front of me who was interested in me and my work because my own husband wasn't even interested in my work (…) It's like I lived alone“, she explained.
A ruined and depressed woman
Unfortunately, this romance took a tragic turn. The impostor, who played his role to perfection, managed to manipulate the woman, now divorced, into believing she had supposed kidney cancer.
Thanks to this trick, he completely ruined his victim, both emotionally and financially.
Now homeless, Anne lives with a friend and has had to sell all her possessions. Devastated, she launched a fundraiser to finance her legal fees and was hospitalized in a clinic to treat her severe depression.
