Chic and elegance were on display at the National Board of Review gala on January 7 in New York. A look back at the most beautiful outfits worn by the big names in cinema.

Red carpet season is officially here. After the Golden Globes, the stars shone at the National Board of Review ceremony. Created in 1929, this event celebrates cinematic excellence and attracts the biggest names in cinema every year. On the rewards side, Wicked won the title of best film of the year, while Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman were crowned best actor and actress of the year. A memorable evening for cinema but not only that, because this event, more intimate than the Oscars, also marks a great moment for fashion.

An elegant red carpet

Hollywood was chic that night. Robert Pattinson, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Yeoh, Jeremy Pope… the big names in cinema gathered in their most beautiful gala outfit. For women, the evening was marked by a flood of black dresses. A classic and effective choice notably adopted by Mikey Madison, Carol Kane, Michelle Yeoh and Isabella Rossellini. Star of the evening, Nicole Kidman also made this choice by adorning her dress with a dizzying open back beneath her strawberry blonde hair.

Conversely, Ariana Grande and Elle Fanning both made a splash in powder pink. The star of Wicked wore a long dress by Loewe and Elle Fanning sported a Valentino look, with a tulle dress from the fall 2025 collection and a pink faux fur stole. Cynthia Erivo, for her part, dared to be daring with a long flared dress, accessorized with her long multicolored nails which did not escape anyone.

A touch of originality for men

For men, the traditional tuxedo was required despite some touches of originality observed among certain personalities. Daniel Craig had the fantasy of wearing a black and green scarf tied around his neck with transparent aviator glasses. The star of the series SuccessionKieran Culkin, swapped the classic tuxedo for a sky blue sweater and a burgundy red jacket-suit set. A bold choice for the actor who plays a hothead on screen. A success for this second red carpet of the year which promises a year 2025 marked by glamor and style.
