In a moving video shared on her Instagram account, the daughter of the King of Pop celebrated her five years of sobriety from alcohol and heroin. “To say I’m grateful would be an understatement,” she wrote.
The dark hours are now far behind her. On her social networks, the daughter of the King of Pop, Paris Jackson publicly admitted to having fought drug and alcohol addictions in her youth, after the death of her father. “Today, I am five years sober from all drugs and alcohol,” she proudly shared in a moving post on Instagram.
A long video showing different moments of his life: the first half describes his struggles against frequent consumption of alcohol, tobacco and drugs and moments of depression and exhaustion. Conversely, the second half highlights his recovery and path to sobriety with milestones including earning different sobriety badges along the way.

“Here’s a little snapshot of what’s been possible through my sobriety, and my God, I can’t believe I almost missed it,” she added, showing videos of herself in climbing, laughing out loud, meeting a baby bat or even attending Paris Fashion Week. Moments that she could not have experienced a few years ago.

And after very difficult years, particularly after the death of Michael Jackson, the 26-year-old young woman is proud to have gotten through it. “To say I am grateful would be an understatement. (…) It’s because I’m sober that I can smile, make music, love my dogs and my cat. I feel heartbroken again, I can grieve, I can laugh, I can dance.”
“I discovered that life continues to happen, whether I’m sober or not, but today I want to show up for it,” she said. Under her post, comments from her closest friends and simple fans multiplied to congratulate her. “So proud of you, my sister,” commented Paris Hilton.
