Nathalie Marquay-Pernaut, who is in the casting of season 5 of The Island on M6, told TV Actu about her comrade Julien Cohen, with whom the flow did not go very well at the start of the adventure.
After six years of absence on the air, M6 made the decision to resurrect the program The Island for a season 5 which begins on January 7, 2025. This edition, called The penal colonybrings together 10 personalities who agreed to leave for 10 days in order to survive on a beach then in the jungle with the aim of reaching an exfiltration point. This time, it is not Mike Horn who will comment on their adventures but Loury Lag, another adventurer with an extraordinary background. In the cast, we also find Nathalie Marquay-Pernaut, who spoke exclusively to TV News about his relationships with his fellow prisoners.
“I thought he was misogynistic”
“In general, I get along well with everyone”she explained to us first, before pointing at a person. “I had a bit of trouble with Julien Cohen at the start because I found him to be misogynistic. When he saw that Daniella Capone knew how to handle a machete like no one else and that she knew how to cut down a tree as quickly as him, that eased tensionsshe added before making it clear that things ended up getting better: “I learned to love Julien Cohen afterwards because he was right about a lot of things and fortunately he was there. It’s funny because at the beginning we shoot each other a little and then we open up more , we put our ego aside and mutual aid begins.”
The Island: tense atmosphere between Julien Cohen and Terence Telle
For Julien Cohen, who became known for his negotiations on the show Deal done on France 2, the task was not easy and the candidate of The Island also clashed with model Terence Telle on set. “They are the two males. The ego took over again at that moment”Nathalie Marquay-Pernaut told us. “Between the girls, on the other hand, things went well. I didn’t have any clashes. The men really helped me at certain times. What’s good about this adventure is that we eliminate no one. We helps yourself and it’s beautiful”she concluded philosophically.
