Three Toulouse residents in the Top 10 of French people's favorite personalities in 2024

Le Journal du Dimanche has just revealed its Top 50 favorite French personalities in 2024, and three Toulouse residents have made it into the Top 10. Here is how Thomas Pesquet, Léon Marchand and Antoine Dupont, these emblematic figures of the Pink City, are ranked.

In the 2024 edition of the famous ranking of French people's favorite personalities established by Ifop for the Journal du Dimanche, several emblematic figures left their mark, and among them, three Toulouse residents stand out in the Top 10. Léon Marchand, Antoine Dupont and Thomas Pesquet thus embody values of excellence and proximity which resonate deeply with the French public. They have thus moved into the top ten, just behind Jean-Jacques Goldman (1^is), Omar and (2^e) and Teddy Riner (3^e).

These Toulouse residents who appear in the Top 10

Léon Marchand, swimming prodigy from Toulouse, enters the Top 10 in 2024 by obtaining 5^e place, an entry with great fanfare linked in particular to its performances on the national sporting scene. Indeed, he particularly stood out this summer. The swimmer was able to break records with his 5 medals won at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, including 4 gold, and a bronze. The young athlete won the hearts of the French, allowing him to be crowned swimmer of the year 2024, on Sunday December 15 during the closing of the Short Course Swimming World Championships in Budapest.

Toulouse astronaut Thomas Pesquet, also in the Top 10, occupies 7^e place. After his last trip to space and his communication missions, he remains a figure very appreciated by the French in 2024, even if he loses a few points against athletes in the ranking like Teddy Riner (3^e) or Léon Marchand. But he still embodies scientific excellence.

Another Toulouse sportsman also stands out in the Top 10 of the French's favorite personalities: the captain of the XV of France and Stade Toulousain, Antoine Dupont. The rugby player continues to seduce the French. By progressing impressively in the ranking, he now ranks 8^e. His exceptional career on the rugby fields and his undisputed leadership make him an essential figure. In addition, he tried a new exercise during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games: rugby sevens. And unsurprisingly, the Toulouse native shone again on the international scene by winning the gold medal.

Although they are not from Toulouse, we should finally salute the remarkable breakthrough of the Lebrun brothers, Alexis and Félix, in this same ranking. The two young table tennis prodigies, now at 31^e rank, benefit from an entry into the ranking following their exploits during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
