Pastry chef Yazid Ichemrahen sentenced to 6 months in prison

Accused of trying to defraud his insurance by simulating the burglary of his apartment, pastry chef Yazid Ichemrahen, world champion of frozen desserts in 2014, was sentenced to six months in prison.

His incredible life story was the subject of a film and numerous reports in the press, including in Match. It is for much less glorious facts that Yazid Ichemrahen is today making the headlines of the national media again. The star pastry chef, who currently works in a Parisian palace, was sentenced to six months in prison, a fine of 6,000 euros and two years of ineligibility, by the Paris court in September, and decided not to not appeal, revealed “Le Parisien” last week.

On February 9, 2022, Yazid Ichemrahen filed a complaint at a police station in the 16th arrondissement of Paris for burglary. The 33-year-old pastry chef declared that he had gone away and noticed, on his return, the theft of luxury clothes and jewelry, in particular a watch, for an amount estimated at 70,000 euros, as well as the keys to his car, an Audi RS6. By analyzing the various video surveillance systems, investigators discovered that a person with a hidden face entered the complainant’s building and came out with two large black trash bags 30 minutes later, on February 8 at 11:30 p.m. .

Around the same time, an Audi RS6 was also spotted in the area, then in a parking lot near the Champs-Élysées. However, the parking was paid for with Yazid Ichemrahen’s bank card. A means of payment that had not been reported stolen.

The very affected pastry chef

An element which pushed the police, then the courts, to think that Yazid Ichemrahen wanted to defraud his insurance by simulating a false burglary. Facts which the pastry chef defends himself against, but for which he is definitively condemned since he decided not to appeal for economic reasons and the desire not to inflict “two years of additional procedures” on himself. A sentence which affects him greatly, those around him told Paris Match. Currently in Courchevel, where he owns a pastry shop, the 33-year-old man fears that this affair and its media repercussions will cost him his position, in addition to his status as a prince prodigy of gastronomy.
