Maya Lauqué presents Telematin on France 2, alongside Damien Thévenot, for four years already; during the week, the duo is made up of Flavie Flament and Julien Arnaud. The journalist now has her habits on the set, which has become a bit like her second home. In particular, she has at her disposal a small, mysterious button under a table, which has a very particular function.
Maya Lauqué reveals what she uses as a “yoke” in Télématin
The presenter of Telematin wanted to take a guided tour of the famous set of the show via his TikTok account, in order to show behind the scenes to the program’s loyal viewers. After touring the place in this social media video, the journalist sat in her usual place on set and pointed to a small red button under her table.
“It’s the rant. If we speak to the management, they will hear me, but it will cut off my microphone on set. So viewers won’t hear what we’re saying. The camera will film something else“, she explained before revealing the essential function of this red button: “This allows us to send messages to the control room directly, if we need to communicate.“
Maya Lauqué and Damien Thévenot: “It’s special…”
At her station, Maya Lauqué also has a small computer at her disposal on which she has access to news reports and newspaper editors, as well as her files which tell her how the show is going. Several red lights on set allow her to see which cameras she is speaking to. Above all, she has an accessory “indispensable“to be operational: a cup in which it constantly fills”liters of coffee” !
As for Damien Thévenot, his sidekick, he has a more or less identical position. But it is better tidy! “It’s always a bit of a mess on my side“, admitted the journalist. Fortunately, between them, the understanding is good! “It’s special to present a show with two people. But we know each other well with Damien, we can improvise more”, she assured while specifying that the show was despite everything “very written“so that the”images are sent at the right time” and that the smooth running of the program is guaranteed.
