The principal dancer of the Opera ballet Roxane Stojanov has been named star of this prestigious company, the institution announced in a press release on Saturday.

“On the proposal of José Martinez, director of dance, Alexander Neef, general director of the Opéra national de Paris, named Roxane Stojanov star dancer of the Opéra national de Paris on the stage of the Opéra Bastille,” a she clarified.

Roxane Stojanov learned the news after the performance of the ballet “Paquita” by Pierre Lacotte in which she played the title role.

Born in 1995, of Franco-Macedonian origin, Roxane Stojanov entered the Paris Opera dance school in 2007 before being hired in the corps de ballet in 2013.

She notably distinguished herself in the ballets “After the Rain” by Christopher Wheeldon, “La Dame aux Camélias” by John Neumeier and the “Boléro” directed by the choreographer Mats Ek.
