Burkina: Singer Adji, ex-partner of Black So Man, has died

His end is no less sad than that of his ex-companion Black So Man. Burkinabe singer Adjaratou Sanon, better known as Adji, died on the night of Tuesday December 24, 2024. She succumbed to double cancer, that of the breast and the mediastinum. Many still remember the song “Adji” that the legendary Burkinabé singer dedicated to him.

A unique style of music

She also paid tribute to the native of Koudougou upon his death in March 2002, by releasing an album mixing covers of his songs and her own creations. This opus was a great success, definitively launching the musical career of young Adjaratou.

According to Lefaso.net, Adji had a unique style which mixed traditional Burkinabé sounds (Waraba, Wiré and Gourmatchéma) with modern music such as coupé-décalé.

During his long career, the artist has released 7 albums. The last, “Under the wing of faith”, dates back to January 2024. She expressed her gratitude to God.

From now on, as in the legendary song, Black So Man will no longer have to say: “Get out where Adji is!” “. She is certainly with him.
