Former boxer Floyd Mayweather spent nearly 20 million euros on his grandson’s Christmas present. The child symbolically became the owner of a building in New York.
This is a very special gift for a three year old. According to TMZ, Floyd Mayweather acquired a building in New York, on 6th Avenue (and 47th Street) in the Manhattan district, for nearly 20 million euros. If the man with 50 professional victories in as many fights is officially the owner, he symbolically offered the building to his grandson.
“I bought you a building”
In a video posted on social networks, Floyd Mayweather surprises his grandson for Christmas. “You are the first child to own a building in the Diamond District in New York! I bought you a building,” said the entrepreneur to the young child, not really enthusiastic about the proposition. Floyd Mayweather’s grandson still had other gifts more appropriate for his age, placed under a huge tree.
Retired from professional boxing since 2017, Floyd Mayweather successfully converted to business, while continuing to practice his sport in lucrative exhibitions. Last October, the multiple world champion invested nearly 400 million euros to buy more than 60 buildings in New York. The ex-boxer’s assets were recently estimated at 1.5 billion euros.
This time, the 47-year-old bought a place where he used to shop. “I never thought I would end up owning this important piece of property at the 47th Street entrance,” said Floyd Mayweather. The building includes offices, a large advertising board and a store where it is possible to exchange diamonds. Not really enough to make a child dream, who will undoubtedly take time to understand the value of their gift.
