Didier Bourdon furious: his big rant about his career

When we make laugh for years, a comic label sticks to us and it is difficult to remove it. Didier Bourdon knows this only too well. Indeed, the member of the troop of Unknown has a habit of playing comedic roles in the cinema.

Nevertheless, in By your side film broadcast on Monday December 16, 2024 on TF1, the sidekick of Pascal Légitimus and Bernard Campan, is in a completely different register. He plays Marcel, a father condemned by illness. This is a dramatic role, as he has already been able to do twice, far from the colorful characters to which he has accustomed viewers.

Didier Bourdon wants many more dramatic roles

And this change of register pleases him as he made it known to our colleagues at 7 Days TV. In fact, a few hours before the broadcast of By your sidein which he plays Jarry, Didier Bourdon expressed his wish to play more roles like that of Marcel.

“Believe me, I sincerely deplore it”assures the 65-year-old actor when our colleagues asked him why we were seeing him “so little in this register”. “I’m even starting to get really pissed”, he continued before reassuring all his fans who appreciate him in the comic register.

But not leaving comedy definitively

Indeed, although he increasingly appreciates dramatic roles, Didier Bourdon assures us that he likes “a lot of comedy” et “hope to play many more”. Despite everything, the sidekick of Pascal Légitimus and Bernard Campan recalls being “above all an actor”to justify his desire to interpret roles in different registers.

“I went to the Conservatory. Also, I would like to be offered something other than comic roles. I don’t understand these labels that people absolutely want to put on us. An actor is capable of interpreting everything, what counts is sincerity”he continued, still looking up.

To try to land roles in registers other than comedy, Didier Bourdon does not hesitate to challenge streaming platforms like Netflix or Prime Video. Indeed, according to him, these “will be able to move the lines”. It remains to be seen whether cinema will offer the 65-year-old actor the opportunity to temporarily leave comedy, before streaming platforms.
