Painful confidences. At 77 years old, Elton John announced he lost his sight after battling a serious infection. Present at the Dominion Theater, the singer indicated that he suffered from severe blindness. “As some of you may know, I have had some problems and now I have lost my sight. I didn't get to see the show, but I enjoyed listening to it,” John declared to the crowd, according to our colleagues at the BBC.
On TikTok, the singer also wanted to thank her husband:
“To my husband, who has been my rock, because I haven't been able to come to many premieres because, as you know,
I lost my sight, so it's hard for me to see it, but I like to hear it”.

At the beginning of September, the singer spoke about this health problem last September, revealing that he had “limited vision in one eye” after being confronted with a
“serious eye infection” during last summer.
“I am healing, but it is an extremely slow process and it will take some time before the affected eye regains sight”he wrote in a press release at the time. “I unfortunately lost the sight in my right eye in July due to an infection in the south of France and I have not seen for four months now.”
His other health concerns
The singer must thus face
a health problem which handicaps him on a daily basis. “And my left eye isn't in the best shape, so I have hope and encouragement that everything will be okay, but I'm a little stuck at the moment.”
Always very combative, he indicated a few months ago:
“I no longer have tonsils, adenoids or appendix. I no longer have a prostate”. Before adding: “I no longer have a right hip or a left knee. In fact, the only thing I have left is my left hip. But I’m still here”he listed about his health problems.
“As you know, I decided to stop touring because I am 77 years old, I did everything there was to do, to play. I succeeded. I went there and did it”.
