Interviewed in podcast The taste of MCamille Cottin had opened the doors of her apartment located in the lower 9th arrondissement of Paris, not far from the grand boulevards. A favorite neighborhood for the comedian since she spent her childhood there. She lived at 151 rue Montmartre. A suburban apartmentwarm“, “ceiling bottom” et “on courtyard“. “I like it when the windows are open and we hear the neighbor playing the piano, when we hear the other bipolar neighbor on the phone, that doesn't bother me, it has a little Italian side that I find nice. Afterwards I can't have parties too much because it bothers everyone. But there is the cellar for that“, confides the one who was revealed to the public with the character of Connasse.
Mother of Léon, born in 2009 and a daughter, Anna, born in August 2015, Camille Cottin has been in a relationship with the architect Benjamin Mahon since 2005. She talks about how her children adapted to this neighborhood which sometimes offers surprises very unexpected. She explains: “They have all their friends in the street, they meet in the square. So the square is disgusting, there are rats, syringes and all that, so it’s crazy. Once, They went into the bushes and came out with very red eyes.. We took them to the pharmacy. We were told: 'You are not the first, it is possible that there are products that are a little toxic'. But still everyone is there. My big boy is happy, he can go alone, he's in CM2 (…) that's really nice“.
Camille Cottin, eternal Parisian
The imprint of her father, a painter, is very strong in her. It thus shows a series of 9 “small frames“representing skeletons.”I think they are small plastic skeletons that are 10 cm long. And then behind it, there are photos, either photos of veterans, there is the silhouette of a gentleman with his father, his wand and his cane, and then he drew a lot. Whenever he had a message to convey he always expressed himself through art and so I have many drawings of his. Afterwards he also earned a lot of money with a painting company so he renovated apartments (…) He had one of his best friends who was an architect, so they worked a lot on cinemas, for example the Gaumont Pathé cinema“, she explains to Monde.
Her mother, a woman of character “without filter”is now in love with a handsome Italian. During her childhood, her parents remained very close despite their separation, which took place when Camille's mother was pregnant with her. They therefore ensured that they always lived in the same building. “My mother lived on the fifth floor and he lived in the maid's room on the 6th floor.“, says Camille Cottin. “When my mother met my stepfather, I was five years old, we moved two years after the birth of my little sister, we left rue Gérando in the upper 9th arrondissement and my father came with us so he lived on the landing opposite“.
