The host of “Petits plats en équilibre” remains very discreet about his personal life but made a small exception by talking about his relationship with his son. Does his talent as a chef find favor in his eyes?

A passionate man! At 54, the Vosges host continues to delight viewers with his show Small balanced dishes on TF1. But Laurent Mariotte also has other projects up his sleeve: “I cook simple things, recipes that I created for TV. I’m actually going to collect a hundred of them in a book called A ma tablewhich will be released at the start of the school year”, he mentions in an interview for TV 7 Days.

How is his daily life with his son?

Laurent Mariotte is very discreet about his private life and even more so about his son, Léonard, 23 years old. In 2022, however, he confided to Leisure TV that his son shares his passion for cooking: “He loves to learn. We make risottos together, homemade cordon bleus, lasagnes and even endives with ham, now he has mastered béchamel. But he is still from that generation that prefers burgers and kebabs.”

But does Leonard, a graphic design student, like his dad’s dishes? “Absolutely, and he comes back with his friends quite often. The other day, I came back from Toulouse with 1.20 m of sausage, which I prepared with Sarladaise potatoes. His whole gang of friends loved it,” the presenter says today in the pages of TV 7 Days.

Did Laurent Mariotte study cooking?

Before making a name for himself as a TV presenter, Laurent Mariotte obtained a CAP Cuisine; currently, it is the doctor of the PAF, Michel Cymes, who has embarked late on the same studies! Even if he then turned to the profession of presenter, cooking has never really left him. Does he have a plan to open his own restaurant one day?It was a dream that I let go of when I saw that with my CAP, I could popularize everyday cooking on television shows.”

However, the project does not seem to be abandoned forever. : “But the idea is always in the back of my mind, not necessarily to open a restaurant, but to find another way to sit down at the table.” It remains to be seen whether the idea is already there and whether the project will be released soon.
