Touching confidences… Friday, June 28, 2024, Jean-Pierre Castaldi was a guest on the Bel RTL morning show. Asked about the link that unites him to Belgium, the former host made some unexpected revelations. “My first great love of my life, she was a Belgian model
who left us a few years ago, very well-known, who ended up as a painter making collages, I discovered that recently”he confided.
Visibly moved, Benjamin Castaldi’s father said:
“She made very beautiful collages, so I think I’m the only one who can decode what she put on her canvases.
And unfortunately, it’s a story like all great love stories that don’t end well, but I never forgot her. Never. Never, never. I even thought about publishing all her letters in homage to everything she wrote to me, but hey, it’s complicated.”.
Jean-Pierre Castaldi was married twice
In 1969, the former host was married to actress Catherine Allégret, with whom he had Benjamin Castaldi. For Ici Paris, it was in July 2020 that he confided about the end of their story: “When Catherine and I separated, my in-laws wanted to protect Benjamin and our family. I was regularly invited to the countryside and every year,
I spent three weeks with them. I had a very beautiful love story with Catherine”.
Following their divorce, Jean-Pierre Castaldi married Corinne Champeval, twenty years his junior. “I met a girl 20 years younger than me, my wife for thirty-two years, while skiing. Our life is a partnership. She managed the unmanageable, friends say. She brought me a certain serenity, and two beautiful children, rays of sunshine in my life. I am spoiled.”he assured about the mother of his last two children, Giovanni and Paola.
Jean-Pierre Castaldi: “I am a great sentimentalist”
On June 11, 2022, in the show Chez Jordan, for Télé-Loisirs, the former television star had already slipped: “Under this air of a big macho, a strong man, I am a big sentimentalist,
ultra-sensible“.
Although his wife is younger than him, it was after having confided that he had renovated his house in Brittany that Jean-Pierre Castaldi specified: “I have to protect her the day I die, so that she has the means. I want her to be able to live happily, because I know she will be very sad when I leave.”.
