Will Judith Godrèche have the strength to face Benoit Jacquot if the police demand it? In a very emotional message on Instagram, the actress asks herself the question and answers it with determination.

Tears, but above all an invocation to maintain one’s “strength”, this is how Judith Godrèche reacted to the police custody of Benoît Jacquot and Jacques Doillon.

The actress and director is very shaken by the custody of the directors at the Brigade for the Protection of Minors (BPM) in Paris on Monday morning. She responded publicly to this information from AFP by posting a very emotional message on Instagram above a photo of herself when she was very young.

She then published excerpts from articles recalling her complaint, in February, against the director Benoit Jacquot (77 years old) for rape with violence and Jacques Doillon (80 years old) for sexual violence, as well as excerpts from insults received on social networks.

“I’m crying. My eyes are no longer eyes. From all this. From all this. From all this. I don’t know if I have the strength. But I will have it. I will have it. I will have it. I will have it. The strength. For her,” reads the text posted by the 52-year-old actress who broke the silence.

Judith Godrèche had strength when she spoke out several times to denounce what, with maturity, she understood to be sexual violence committed against her during her relationship with Benoit Jacquot, which began when she was 14 and he was 39. The initiator of the French MeToo movement, however, feels that a step has been taken with the intervention of the police. For the young girl she was, she therefore swears to herself to be strong again in case, as several sources indicate to the press, the actress should be confronted with those they accuse.

Judith Godrèche also has strength when she publishes on Monday evening excerpts of an “uninhibited speech” as she calls it above a hateful and vulgar message against her. And, without illusion, the actress adds: “and it will be worse after”.

The two directors, accused by several actresses, deny all the facts with which they are charged, and their lawyers invoke the statute of limitations. Jacques Doillon left the police station at 3 p.m. on Monday.
