The singers Mouss & Hakim, the director of Bikini Hervé Sansonetto, the actress Inès Fehner, call for a blockade of the National Rally, among more than 200 artists from Toulouse and Occitanie.

At the initiative of several professional organizations of artists, technicians, administrators and employers in the live performance sector, nearly 200 signatories are calling for a vote for the forces of progress and against the extreme right, Sunday July 7, during the second round of the legislative elections.

“This text signed in a few days by media-famous artists but also by entertainment professionals from all backgrounds and professions aims to alert voters in Occitania to the disastrous consequences that the arrival in power of the extreme right in France would have for the cultural sector but also for all of our fellow citizens”, comments Yves Sapir, violinist at the Orchestre National du Capitole and general secretary of the Syndicat des Artistes Musicien·nes de Midi-Pyrénées (SAMMIP-CGT).

Under the title “The extreme right must not obtain an absolute majority in the National Assembly” many signatories are committed alongside Mouss & Hakim, Hervé Sansonetto, Rita Macêdo, Inès and François Fehner, Bernardo Sandoval, Les hurlements d’Léo, Éric Lareine, Yohan Hennequin of Cats on Trees, Joël Saurin, Serge Lopez, Magyd Cherfi and many others.

They write in particular: “Never since the sinister fascist regime of Vichy has the extreme right been in a position to take power in our country. […] In other times and in all the countries where it has come to power, the extreme Right has pursued a segregationist and anti-social policy. Because whatever its efforts at disguise, it cannot hide its true nature: the extreme Right is xenophobic, racist, anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, sexist, homophobic and violent.
