Pierre Palmade, sentenced Wednesday to five years of imprisonment, two of which were closed after a violent road accident under drugs, will be summoned “within a month” by the public prosecutor's office in Bordeaux, where he lives, for the execution of his sentence.
The 56-year-old comedian will then be indicated “the penitentiary establishment in which he will be incarcerated, as well as the date and time at which he must report there”, writes the public prosecutor in Bordeaux, Frédérique Porterie, in a press release.
His actual incarceration “will take place within a maximum period of 4 months” following this interview, adds the magistrate.
On Wednesday, the Melun court found Pierre Palmade guilty of involuntary injury to a family in the collision he caused on a road in Seine-et-Marne, on February 10, 2023, while driving under the influence of drugs.
Three people were seriously injured by the impact: a 38-year-old man, his six-year-old son and his 27-year-old sister-in-law, who lost the baby she was expecting after the impact.
In accordance with the prosecution's requisitions, the judges sentenced the comedian and actor to five years in prison, three of which were suspended on probation. For the two years, the court issued a deferred committal warrant with provisional execution (giving rise to incarceration even in the event of appeal).
Once incarcerated, Pierre Palmade will be able to “formulate a request for sentence modification which will be submitted to the decision of a sentence enforcement judge” at the end of an adversarial hearing, recalls the prosecution.
