Karine Le Marchand has always been closely interested in human relationships, and more particularly in love. For years, she has been helping farmers find their soul mate thanks to the hit show Love is in the meadow. But the presenter doesn't stop there.
She is indeed preparing to return with a new project which promises toexplore more intimate dimensions of our love lives. On December 9, Karine Le Marchand will make her return to the screen with The French, love and sex.
Karine Le Marchand cash on love in the 21st century
On this occasion, she recently entrusted to our colleagues from Tele-Leisure that she no longer believes in the traditional love model of previous generations.
“You have to be lucid: heteronormative happiness as it was sold to us, in the form of fairy tales, has never worked. It worked as long as women could not divorce, they did not work and they were forced to play the role of housewife, but they were the big losers“, she explained.
In her documentary, Karine Le Marchand intends to make the “criticism of patriarchy“. “Dating applications, the #Metoo movement and the notion of consent, the end of the injunction of religion, the rise of individualism and the demand for happiness that this induces… All this makes us not like more of the same way“, believes the star host.
I asked myself the question of libertinism
With this project, her ambition is to look at the multiple forms that romantic relationships can take. Because they are much more varied than you think! Couple, asexuality, polyamory… the show promises to explore realities that are often overlooked.
“Today, everything is reinvented and evolves throughout our lives. That surprised me a lot! […] When I came home in the evening after filming, I asked myself: 'Could I live with a woman? Would I assume?' It's a documentary that questions a lot about oneself. I am much more open-minded now than at the start of the project“, says Alya's mother who clearly no longer knows what she likes.
And to conclude: “I asked myself the question of libertinism. If I wasn't famous, I would try!“There is no doubt that these confidences will provoke a reaction…
