Ryan Gosling has embarked on a new project with his new best friends at Amazon: a zombie comedy, of which he will be a producer (at least).
It will take much more than the flop of his last blockbuster The Fall Guy to slow down Ryan Gosling’s career. The 43-year-old actor is still one of the most prominent figures in Hollywood, as evidenced by the mega-success of Barbie just last year – with a Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Ken’s interpreter.
Especially since Ryan Gosling is unfortunately not at his first failure, and there are sadder things than that of The Fall Guy. Yes, we think of the failure of the excellent The Nice GuysFor example.
The future of actor and producer Ryan Gosling will largely pass through Amazon. He launched his own production box in 2024, and entered into an agreement with Amazon MGM Studios to develop projects. He will soon appear in the science fiction film Project Hail Marydistributed by the studio. And it’s not over yet, since we’ll have to add an intriguing film to the program: a zombie comedy.
RYAN GOSLING ADOPTED BY AMAZON
Amazon MGM Studios got its hands on the project I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale (I used to eat brains, now I eat kale), whose title gives the color. It is initially a 42-page short story written by brothers Adam and Daniel Cooper, and which has not (yet) been published. But it attracted enough attention that they were responsible for adapting it into a screenplay themselves.
The film will be produced by General Admission, the production company launched in early 2024 by Ryan Gosling and Jessie Henderson. Normal that the film lands at Amazon: they signed a three-year contract with the giantso that they have priority on their projects.
Project Hail Mary, where Ryan Gosling will play the role of a man who wakes up aboard a spaceship supposed to save humanity, is also produced by General Admission. But a priori, it will be simply producer on I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale.
LAUGH WITH THE ZOMBIES
Few details are available on I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kalemore The Hollywood Reporter talks about a story in a “ post-post apocalyptic world”, where former zombies try to reintegrate into society. We are therefore closer to Zombieland or Shaun of the Dead what of Last Train to Busan.
The idea of zombies who must find a place in society especially reminds Warm Bodies (a zombie tries to find love with a human), Fido (a world where zombies are sold as servants), and the British series In the Flesh (“treated” zombies are returned to their families).
No release date has not been announced, and the same goes for the director of this comedy. To see if Amazon will trust the Cooper brothers, who have directed several short films and made their way in Hollywood by editing trailers for all the biggest studios (Warner Bros., Disney, Netflix, Apple).
Mystery also on the broadcast of the film. Knowing that Amazon MGM Studios will exploit Project Hail Mary in the cinema, in March 2026 in the United States, anything is possible.
