The daughter of Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp wore an archival Chanel dress at a recent concert for her girlfriend 070 Shake in Los Angeles.
One dress, many lives. On November 8, Lily-Rose Depp went to the concert of rapper 070 Shake, with whom she has officially been in a relationship since May 12, 2023. For the occasion, Vanessa Paradis' daughter opted for a 1920s look like imported from the movie The Great Gatsby (2013) by director Baz Luhrmann: long black coat, heeled sandals of the same shade, white opera gloves, micro handbag… But above all, archive Chanel dress. The same model that her mother wore two decades earlier in New York.
One dress, one style
In detail, this beige flapper dress set with sequins is adorned with the house's signature camellia with two intertwined C's, a generous V-neckline and crossed straps at the back: a creation by Karl Lagerfeld, and spotted for the first time on the Chanel spring-summer 2003 catwalk. That year, Vanessa Paradis, then 30 years old, walked the red carpet in this same dress at the film's New York premiere. Once Upon a Time in Mexicoarm in arm with his companion at the time Johnny Depp. A look modeled on the aesthetic of the “roaring twenties” which she had accessorized with a headband, iridescent pumps and fishnet tights. For his part, the star of the film Edward Scissorhands (1990) opted for a striped navy blue suit, also strongly imbued with 1920s codes. Enough to allow the couple to cause a sensation.
More than twenty years later, it is Lily-Rose Depp who continues to perpetuate the fashion legacy left by her mother, while continuing to display her affection for the Chanel house of which she is a faithful ambassador. And whether it's mother and daughter, both know perfectly well how to honor the famous French luxury house.
