The actor couple put their mansion, worth $12 million, located in upstate New York, up for sale on June 17.

It’s a new beginning for one of Hollywood’s most iconic couples. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have decided to put up for sale their luxurious house worth $12 million purchased in 2019. The latter is located in the town of Irvington, in upstate New York.

“When I bought our home in Irvington, I knew our family would share many happy times here, and we did!” Catherine Zeta-Jones said of her home in a June 17 interview with Wall Street Journal , before continuing: “Now that our son and daughter have left the nest, it seems like a good time to sell.” Indeed, the couple’s two children, Dylan, 23, and Carys, 21, recently left the family cocoon and their parents find themselves alone in their huge house.

An exceptional property

The couple put their house up for sale on June 17 with the help of a real estate agent, David Turner. In the property description, the latter describes the mansion as “a spectacular property” and emphasizes: “The owner has done a masterful job renovating the house in a fresh, comfortable and modern aesthetic that preserves its original grandeur and integrity. .”

The house, built in 1929, is located in the middle of more than 4 hectares of land and stands on 4 floors. The latter has 12 bathrooms, 8 bedrooms, an indoor swimming pool, several games and sports rooms, as well as a 30-meter-long terrace with access to a river.

The couple seems to have business acumen. Indeed, the residence, nicknamed “Longmeadow”, was purchased in 2019 for $4.5 million. Today, the latter is on sale for $12 million, almost triple its purchase price. A considerable margin for the couple of actors.
