VIDEO – The 21-year-old Dane, who won the beauty pageant crown on Saturday night in Mexico City, had a difficult childhood.

On the night of Saturday November 16 to Sunday November 17, the Dane won the Miss Universe 2024 competition against one hundred and twenty-four competitors.

In addition to her beauty, it was above all her career and her powerful speech that won over the jury. By winning the crown, Victoria fulfilled a childhood dream. “Since the age of five, I have always watched Miss Universe and other beauty pageants. When I was 17, I signed up for Miss Denmark”confides in a video Miss Universe the one who won the national beauty title in 2024.

“I have a difficult past”

At only 21 years old (she celebrated her birthday during the competition on November 13), the young woman already has a busy life. With a degree in marketing and communications, she created her own company specializing in the sale of diamonds. Passionate about animals, she is committed to animal defense. She is also particularly invested in raising awareness about mental health. A cause that is close to her heart because she herself has suffered numerous traumas. “I have a difficult past. I come from a very dysfunctional family plagued by drug addictions. I suffered abuse and I also survived rape”she continued in the Miss Universe video.

Despite this terrible liability, Victoria Kjær Theilvig was able to bounce back and turn her difficulties into strength. “With this part of my life, I've worked so much on myself…I'm only 20 years old and I stand before you stronger than I've ever been. The message I want to convey is that there is always a new day tomorrow. Don't let your past define you and the person you want to become. You can turn your past into something positive.”
