The career of Charles Aznavour will be celebrated on Saturday November 23 at the Palais des Congrès, during a symphonic tribute show combining archive images and a live orchestra, the artistic direction of which is by his son Mischa Aznavour.
Charles Aznavour is at the heart of cultural news in 2024, the year which marks the centenary of his birth, on May 22, 1924. While the biopic “Monsieur Aznavour” has already recorded more than 1.4 million admissions since its released in theaters three weeks ago, the Palais des Congrès in Paris will host for one evening, Saturday November 23, a major symphonic show tribute to the unforgettable star, who died in October 2018 after having dazzled the stage for more than 60 years.
A musical but also cinematographic career, marked by more than 90 films and an honorary César in 1997, which is covered in this film concert, written by Thierry Chabrot and narrated by Charles Aznavour's son, Mischa Aznavour, who also performs artistic direction.
The opportunity to delve into the artistic life of the great Charles through rare archive images, extracts from feature films – from “The Hatter's Ghost” to “A Taxi to Tobruk” or even “Shoot the Pianist” – and quite logically the interpretation of his greatest hits by an orchestra of 70 musicians. Among them: “La Bohème”, “Take me away” or even “We will see each other again one day or another”.
From this journey through the eras, it is all the talent and heritage left by Charles Aznavour which will shine once again.
“Aznavour Celebration, the official tribute”, November 23, 8 p.m., Palais des Congrès, Paris.
