Monday June 24, 2024, the organizers of the Paris Olympic Games revealed that Daphné Bürki had been chosen to be the styling and costume director of the ceremonies. For Paris Match, the host assured that even her family did not know it.

An offer that she could not refuse… Monday June 24, 2024, Tony Estanguet, boss of the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games, announced in a press release the name of the styling and costume director of the ceremonies. “The talented Daphné Bürki puts all his audacity and all his energy at the service of this new exceptional challenge, by finding creators from all backgrounds, who will imagine and create the costumes that the artists and extras will wear during the ceremonies”.

Daphné Bürki: “Every garment tells a story”

The presenter revealed on Canal+ had the mission of choosing young designers who have made, with the help of Dior and Louis Vuitton, the 3 000 costumes artists and dancers who will perform during the ceremonies on July 26 and August 11, 2024.

For Le Parisien, Daphné Bürki clarified: “A lot of clothes already existed, we ennobled them. Certain silhouettes have undoubtedly already been seen in magazines but we don’t necessarily know that French designers are at the origin, we wanted to highlight them”before adding with pride: “You will see 3,000 unique silhouettes. Each garment tells a story. It will be like a treasure hunt”.
