Since his launch in 2022, A Sunday in the countryside is a great success. It became a expected appointment by many viewers on the second channel. This is because the show reveals the the most intimate sides of celebrities.

This Sunday November 17Frédéric Lopez welcomed quite a trio: a comedian, a singer and a journalist. In the casting were therefore Laura Mood, Dave and Julian Bugier. The latter is usually rather discreet about his private life, but the format of the show 2 encourages confidence. So, he actually let go and talked about his relationship with his father.

Julian Bugier admired his father for his charisma

Julian Bugier shared very touching childhood memories on his father Jacques Bugier, also a professional journalist. The 1 p.m. news presenter admitted that he had a lot of admiration for him: “He was someone who had a certain flamboyance, who was very talentedhe confided.

“When he was in society, he took up space with his words, his presence. He had something. That's what fascinated me about him. I wanted to be like my father”he clarified. But his father also had his gray areas: “He was someone who had these moments of weaknessof trouble, which was sometimes prone to depression quite significantly”.

The journalist also revealed something remarkable: “From time to time, my father forgot me at school. I found myself all alone like an idiot”, he said, half-seriously, half-amused. Even if this oversight was not commonplace, it is engraved in his childhood memory and it marked him. Moreover, Julian Bugier thinks that this is why he has a aversion to delay.

A strong bond despite hardships

But that's not all. Julian Bugier explained that their relationship was sometimes reversed and he had to take responsibilities too earlywho were not of his age: “It’s not normal that it’s the kid who does the job of supporting the father”he admitted.

Despite all this, Julian Bugier assured that love was here still with of course moments of happiness. Thanks to his profession as a journalist, he made his first major trips with him. The two men always remained united, even in times of storm. Julian Bugier even has it financially supported late in life.
