In an interview with Ouest-France published this Saturday, November 16, the host and producer of the cult show “Intervilles” delivers the recipe for his comeback.
“There are no more animals on TV shows today.” While the return of the cult show Intervilles is taking shape, producer Nagui detailed the new face of the program this Saturday, November 16 with Ouest-France. He confirms that cows will not be there, despite the announcement of the boycott of certain cities.
“It’s been four years since I announced the return of the program and the fact that there would be no cows. Firstly because there are no more animals in television shows today” , explains the television host to our colleagues.
This also reminds us that the public service broadcast Fort Boyard did not suffer from the disappearance of its famous tigers. A sort of “cow” will still be present, in the form of a mascot, “it will be made of foam, with someone inside”, revealed Nagui.
Boycott threats
The choice to renounce the presence of these animals in the name of animal welfare has, however, raised some teeth, Dax and Mont-de-Marsan have announced that they do not want to participate in the show which will be back in the summer of 2025 .
“Intervilles without cows, it is not Intervilles. It's something else, it's a fair, or a game show of some sort, but it's not called Intervilles“, lamented the mayor of Mont-de-Marsan to the local press.
A spade that does not upset the presenter, firm in his positions. “I hear the talk about tradition (…) We have, fortunately, already banned many degrading traditions that had been created in other times.”
Nagui is therefore “not worried” about the absence of these cities, needing only six candidates for his shows, and having already received, according to him, “many applications”.
Live, presentation, return of the “classics”…
What guideline for the cult show version 2025? “It’s going to have to shine, it’s going to have to bang,” describes Nagui to Ouest-France, wanting a dose of “fundamentals” and “modernity.”
“The spins, the swimming pools, the tug of war… The classics will all be there! The wall of champions will also be there but it will be mixed from now on,” he reveals.
Regarding the framework of the show, in the animation, we will find Bruno Guillon and Nagui in the role of “two hypocrites” each defending a city. At the same time, the two Miss France Camille Cerf and Valérie Bègue will be present in the arena with the public.
The show could become live again, but logistical and programming schedule issues complicate this point. Furthermore, Nagui hopes thatIntervilles “becomes an annual event again”, after long years of absence.
