They set the record straight. This Thursday, November 14, 2024, a few days after their artist Julien Lieb spoke, the Twin label banged its fist on the table. As a reminder, fans of the former candidate of the Star Academy would have bought streams in order to make their idol climb to the top of the charts according to Ciné Télé Revue.

Faced with this situation, the sidekick of Pierre Garnier and Héléna Bailly decided to warn his community. “There are stream purchases that have been made on some of my songs. Please know that this is not going to help me, you are putting a huge bullet in my foot, I am talking to those who may have done this”he railed on his social networks.

Julien Lieb, angry with his fans

Subsequently, Julien Lieb explains the risks he runs because of this gesture on the part of certain fans: “It denies me entries in playlists on platforms, potentially on the radio, and it can boycott sounds. It’s forbidden to do that. I want to be clear: it’s not possible to do that.”

The candidate for the 2023 class of the Star Academy finally concluded: “I'm counting on you to support my music in an authentic way: listen to it, share it and talk about it around you. Your sincere support is what helps me the most”.

His label speaks

Several days after this speech, it was the label, which he joined a few months ago, which decided to bang its fist on the table. Through a press release, Julien Lieb's teams denounced: “At Twin Music, we deeply appreciate the support you provide to our artists. However, we would like to remind you that purchasing streams – even when you think you are doing the right thing – is a strictly prohibited and reprehensible practice.”.

Like their artist, they recall that these actions distort the figures and can harm the artist's career“. “We have discovered stream purchases for one of our artists, via platforms that we have identified and we have names of buyers”also warns the label.

In fact, they are considering taking legal action in order to protect the integrity of the label and the platforms. “We encourage all fans to support their favorite artists in a genuine way: every real listen counts and sincerely contributes to their success. Thank you for your support and understanding”they concluded in an attempt to put an end to this practice which handicaps Julien Lieb and other artists more than anything else.
