In the show A Sunday in the Countryside broadcast this Sunday, November 10, 2024 on France 2, Frédéric Lopez welcomed three new personalities for a moment of relaxation far from everyday life. This Sunday, the host invited pastry chef Christophe Michalak, actress Sandrine Bonnaire and singer Emmanuel Moire. The latter, revealed in the title role of The Sun King, addressed a deeply moving personal memory: the tragic loss of his twin brother. Emmanuel Moire said that this tragedy occurred in 2009, when he was enjoying great musical success. At the height of his career, he learned that his brother had been seriously injured in a car accident. “I learned that my brother was knocked down,” he confides, moved. His brother was then plunged into a coma for two weeks. “Little by little, when we brought him out of the coma, we saw clinically that there was no one left,” he explains, paying tribute to the man who shared his childhood. The family finds themselves faced with an impossible decision: keep a loved one alive without hope of return or agree to let them go. “It was a real choice to make: either we keep him alive at the risk of recovering someone we didn’t know… or let him go,” he shares, his words still betraying the pain of this memory
