At 74, Daniel Auteuil no longer denies himself anything. The actor of Manon of the sources, The eighth dayof the Under-gifted or more recently The New Toy even started singing. He has released two albums and has just finished touring the second If you’re afraid, don’t be afraid of love. He was also featured in Bruno Podalydès’ film, The Little Mop, at the beginning of June and will be back in Thread, of which he is the director.

Daniel Auteuil wants “be as old as possible“
Daniel Auteuil is totally fulfilled as a septuagenarian. “My wish today, the thing I want most in the world, is to be as old as possible. I couldn’t say it better. It’s a kingdom and I feel very settled there“, he explained in the pages of the new magazine.
Obviously, Emmanuelle Béart’s former companion does not deny that there are certain inevitable disadvantages as you get older: “The pain sucks.” However, the actor puts things into perspective by saying that it is not a tragedy either and that it is rather for his son, a teenager now aged 14, that he is worried. “The big ones (Aurore and Nelly), they are already cut, they work. Zac is 14 years old, he still has a long way to go.” added Daniel Auteuil, concerning his son born from his current marriage to his wife Aude Ambroggi.
Why does Daniel Auteuil like to age so much?
Daniel Auteuil tried to get into singing in the 80s, but it didn’t work. Now, with the passage of time, everything smiles on him. “There, now I sing on stage, with a group. We shoot, etc. It’s starting to work well even (…), I’m having fun“, he indicated.
He knows himself better and no longer makes the same mistakes. “I know what I really like. I know that I no longer like to waste my time, that long trips are no longer for me. (…) I see the people I want to see. And I learned to say no“. And above all, Daniel Auteuil savors his success and his popularity: “I do what I want ! I sing, I make the movies I want, the shows I want“. In short, life is beautiful.
