Discover how Christine Bravo, despite the pain, experienced a summer marked by the Olympic Games and her optimism for the future.
This Thursday, November 7, 2024, Christine Bravo was Laurent Ruquier's guest in Les Grosses Têtes on RTL. The former host, who is spending happy days in Corsica with her husband Stéphane Bachot, took the opportunity to discuss her health concerns. In fact, Christine has been suffering for several months from discopathy, a pathology which affects the intervertebral discs.
A major operation and a month-long convalescence
Despite a custom-made scrap metal corset worn for 3 months and painkillers, the pain is still present. This is why Christine Bravo underwent major back surgery on November 8, 2024, which will force her to remain immobile for a month. “They are going to screw the vertebrae, like we do to viocs”she explained with her usual frankness.
When Arielle Dombasle, surprised, suggested that she do gymnastics instead, Christine laughed before letting go completely: “As you see me, you see me happy, because I'm totally stoned. I'm in terrible pain and I advise all people who suffer from L4/L5, these two vertebrae, to have an operation instead of infiltrations , gymnastics… and suffering and dragging it out”.
A much-needed operation!
The surgical procedure that Christine Bravo underwent consists of stabilizing and uniting the affected vertebrae. This is a major intervention! However, it is essential for lasting relief.
A one-month convalescence, with a strict ban on movement, will then be necessary to allow optimal consolidation. A necessary sacrifice to finally turn the page on these long months of suffering and regain an acceptable quality of life for the bubbly sixty-year-old.
A summer marked by the Olympic Games despite the pain
Despite the pain, Christine Bravo wanted to enjoy the summer and the Paris Olympic Games. She returned specially to the capital to attend the opening ceremony from her boat which was taking part in the big parade on the Seine, an unforgettable memory.
But the priority for the ex-host today remains to treat her back to return to a normal life. Let's hope that the operation went well and that the convalescence allows Christine Bravo to get back on her feet quickly, she who remains, despite the pain, a bubbly and free-spirited guest.
