Eva Longoria reveals she moved out of 'dystopian' US

For Eva Longoria, the United States has become as nightmarish as a “dystopia”. The “Desperate Housewives” actress considers herself “lucky” to have been able to move with her family to another country.

Eva Longoria no longer lives in the United States. In a recent interview with Marie Claire, the 49-year-old “Desperate Housewives” actress shared her thoughts on Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election, and revealed that she and her family left the country.

“What's shocking is not that he won,” she said of Donald Trump's victory, “it's that a convicted felon who spews so much hatred can occupy the highest office.”

“I have spent my entire adult life here (in the United States, editor’s note),” then confided Tony Parker’s former partner, when discussing her decision to live abroad. “But even before [la pandémie]things were changing. The atmosphere was different. And then Covid-19 arrived, and it changed everything. Whether it's people on the streets or taxes, I don't want to pick on California – I just feel like that chapter of my life is over now.”

Eva Longoria, who is the mother of a little boy named Santiago, aged 6, the fruit of her love affair with media mogul José Bastón, 57, now divides her time between Mexico and Spain.

The actress added that she felt “privileged” to be able to leave the United States. “I can escape and go somewhere,” she said. “Most Americans are not so lucky. They're going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness are for them.”
