When Donald Trump's victory was announced, Elon Musk's transgender daughter, with whom he has been at odds since his transition in 2022, wrote on Treads that she wanted to leave the United States.
Vivian Jenna Wilson, Elon Musk's transgender daughter, shared on Threads her desire to leave the United States following Donald Trump's victory, reports Le Figaro. “I've been thinking about it for a while. I don't see my future in the United States.” She specified that the results of the election definitely convinced her: “Even if Trump only stays for four years, and even if anti-trans laws are not implemented immediately, those who elected him will not disappear.”
At odds with his father for several years
Vivian's relationship with her father has been strained since her transition in 2022, according to Walter Isaacson's biography of Musk. Since this breakup, father and daughter have regularly exchanged harsh criticism on social networks. In August, Vivian had already criticized her father on Threads for “constantly lying about your children” and to be only“a serial infidel”.
She also denounced Musk's support for Trump, calling one of his meetings a “racist”. In an interview with NBC Newsshe described Elon Musk as a father “absent”, “cold”, “cruel” et “narcissistic”.
Vivian, born Xavier Musk, is the eldest of Musk's ten children. When she came of age, she severed all ties with him and changed her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson. Since then, Elon Musk has publicly insisted on the loss of his son, claiming that he was “killed by the wokism virus”and promised to “fight this virus”.

In an interview with Dave Lee published in July 2024, he also claimed that Vivian had become “Communist” and thought that “every rich person is bad”. Vivian, in response, ironically retorted on Threads: “Pretty fit for a “dead” person”.
