Éric Antoine spoke about the trigger that allowed him to lose his extra pounds on “Télé Loisirs” on November 4. The magician was accompanied by Juju Fitcats, with whom he shares the jury of “ has an incredible talent”.

Éric Antoine is back among the members of the jury for the new season of “France has an incredible talent” since October 23. The master of magic reunited with sports influencer Juju Fitcats, who hosts the second part of the show for the second year in a row. The duo met last week during an interview with “Télé Loisirs”. Éric Antoine returns in particular to one of his physical complexes: his weight.

While Tibo Inshape's girlfriend explains that she had difficulty talking about her anorexia, Éric Antoine confirms that he too had difficulty confiding in his eating disorders: “I believe that the taboo is even stronger among men.” The 48-year-old magician explains that he fought his extra pounds for several years: “I experienced the other side, with bulimia. I was morbidly obese, weighing over 140 kilos.”

A relationship with his body that no longer suited Éric Antoine, who did everything to take control of himself. “I began psychoanalytic work,” he reveals. The birth of his two sons, Ulysse and Raphaël (in 2010 and 2013) – whom he had with his ex-wife Calista Sinclair – also helped him a lot in this awareness. “Becoming a father was a turning point, because I didn’t want to put my children through that. I wanted to be healthy and play soccer with them in the backyard. It was a very strong motivation,” he says before specifying that he lost “7 kilos, just this summer! »

Faster growth than the norm

Already in 2022, the television host spoke on this subject in the columns of “L’Équipe”, explaining that he suffered throughout his childhood from his growth, faster than the norm. “At 13, I gained 20cm in a year and a half, going from 1.72m to over 1.90m. Suddenly you become bigger than adults. It’s very complicated in the relationship to seduction and space,” he said.

In addition to his height, the consequences were quickly felt on his weight: “My growth problems made me stop sport completely. I also became vegan for three years. It is an ethical, philosophical and ecological choice that I defend. »
