In recent days, Franky D. was on trial for the accident which caused the death of Antoine Alléno, the son of starred chef Yannick Alléno. A trial which was held at the criminal court amid the greatest emotion. A look back at the tragic event.

On the night of May 8 to 9, 2022, Yannick Alléno experienced every parent's nightmare: the loss of a child. Antoine, his youngest son, was cut down, leaving the chief's son no chance. Antoine, 24, was waiting at a red light on his scooter when a driver under the influence of alcohol, driving a stolen car, hit him violently, causing his death on the spot. Faced with this immeasurable loss, Yannick Alléno chose to transform his suffering into a commitment. Today he strives to support families who, like him, are going through the devastating ordeal of the sudden and unjust loss of a loved one in tragic circumstances. Indeed, Yannick Alléno founded the Antoine Alléno association, shortly after the tragedy, in collaboration with Isabelle, the mother of his son: “When Antoine left, I saw things in , a country of human rights, that I did not even imagine. Antoine left on a Sunday, we buried him the following Friday. The notoriety of our family makes us privileged. In real life, that doesn't exist.

Intense emotion during the trial of Antoine Alléno

In recent days, the trial of Franky D. opened at the Paris Criminal Court. The man is on trial for “aggravated manslaughter”. On the stand, the latter claims to remember nothing, neither the moment he stole the car, nor the impact with the scooter, nor the escape: “I was a coward for doing that, for leaving after the accident […] What I did is unforgivable.”he said to the victim's relatives as reported the Parisian. A terrible moment for the starred chef who recounted the scene – which tragically took place under his windows – in a sober and moving testimony: “I lay on my son's body and screamed […] Today, I find myself faced with the inexcusable and the unacceptable”. To this were also added the words of Isabelle, Antoine's mother: “When you are a parent, you are always afraid for your children but you never imagine the worst”.

Also present at the trial, Anisa, Antoine Alléno's kitchen assistant, was on the back of the scooter at the time of the accident. The latter got away “with some minor injuries”specifies the daily. “Why him and why not me?“, then asked the young woman in the audience. The disastrous consequences of fate since, despite the fact that they were both wearing a helmet, only Antoine was the victim of head trauma which caused him instant death .

The public prosecutor requested eight years in prison with a committal warrant against Franky D., who spent seven months in pre-trial detention, as well as a driving ban for ten years. The judgment was reserved until November 28.
