At the end of the past season and the successes at the Hamburg tournament and the Swiss championships, the two players took the time to reflect. If Tanja Hüberli from Zurich came to the conclusion that she wanted to continue her career, Nina Brunner decided to take a break for a year. The Zougoise does not, however, rule out resuming competition.

Friends

“I am always very motivated and I enjoy practicing my sport. It’s amazing what we’ve achieved in recent years. It’s a shame that our paths are parting and I thank Nina for everything we’ve been through. We were not just partners, but above all we became friends,” said Tanja Hüberli in a Swiss Volley press release. The identity of her new teammate will be announced later.

For her part, Nina Brunner noted that the last nine years have been “beautiful and successful, but also very intense.” The Zougoise expressed the wish to start a family and to have more time to study and enjoy her friends and loved ones. “If circumstances permit, I can very well imagine myself coming back after a break. In the meantime, I wish Tanja lots of energy, joy and success.”
