Eight days of screenings, ceremonies and masterclasses around cinema with prestigious guests. From Saturday 12 to Sunday 20 October 2024the Lumière festival is making its big return to Lyon for a 16th edition.
If this year it honors the great French actress Isabelle Huppertwho will receive the Lumière prize and will thus succeed Wim Wenders, many stars are expected for the event.
The guests of Lumière 2024
Starting with the “2024 Lumière guests”, most of whom will give masterclasses:
- Costa-Gravas (filmmaker)
- Xavier Dolan (director and producer)
- Vanessa Paradis (actress and singer)
- Bénicio Del Toro (actor and director)
- Giuseppe Tornatore (writer and director)
- Icíar Bollaín (réalisatrice)
- Justine Triet (director and screenwriter)
- Vincent Lindon (actor and director)
- Alejandro Jodorowsky (actor and artist)
- Marin Karmitz (distributor and producer)
- Alexandre Aja (director and producer)
- Claude Lelouch (director and producer)
- Jacques Audiard (director and screenwriter)
- Jean Becker (director)
- Fernando Meirelles (director)
Film presentations
Other stars will accompany the festival programming, notably by presenting feature films such as films or documentaries broadcast especially for the event.
We will thus find big names like Monica BellucciCarmen Chaplin, Michel Hazanavicius, François Ozon, Lambert Wilson or even… Edwy Plenel, political journalist who co-founded Mediapart.
