High-end cars can also have (big) problems. After the recalls of Citroën, DS and even Opel due to defective Takata airbags, the official RappelConso website reports a new alert, this time concerning luxury models.
Porsche Taycan, Audi A6, Audi e-tron GT…
These are cars from the Audi and Porsche brands, from the German manufacturer Volkswagen, which could catch fire after a problem in the battery.
In detail, here are the vehicles concerned:
- Porsche Taycan : sold between November 7, 2019 and June 15, 2023. Identification number: Y1A, e13*2007/46*0919*01-*08
- Audi A6 TFSI-e, A7 TFSI-e, Q5 TFSI-e : sold between January 21, 2021 and August 21, 2023. Identification number: F2, FY, e1*2007/46*1550*, e1*2007/46*1801*
- Audi e-tron GT, RS e-tron GT : sold between January 9, 2020 and February 16, 2024. Identification number: FW, e1*2018/858*00005*
“Production issues in some high-voltage battery modules”
According to RappelConso, “a combination of production issues (such as a torn anode tab, bent cathode tab, detached cathode, or double production subject pocket crack) has been found in some high voltage modules of the batteries”.
-Over the life of the vehicle, these problems, when combined, can increase the risk of fire.
