Since its introduction in July 2022, Morocco’s electronic visa system has demonstrated its effectiveness in helping to strengthen the country’s tourist attractiveness. According to the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, the results obtained at the end of 2024 confirm the success of this initiative, designed to simplify administrative formalities and attract more international visitors.
Between July 2022 and December 2024, 385,738 electronic visas were issued, 95% of which were for tourist reasons. This figure illustrates the direct impact of this system on facilitating travel to the Kingdom. In 2024, a 6% increase in visas issued was recorded compared to 2023, reflecting a growing interest among travelers in this digital solution.
Market diversification and emission records
The electronic visa has allowed Morocco to diversify the nationalities of visitors, with 111 countries represented in 2024. India comes first with 36,690 e-visas granted, an increase of 52% compared to the previous year. Significant increases were also seen in other strategic markets, such as Pakistan (+100%), Nigeria (+36%) and Egypt (+45%).

-On average, 13,500 e-visas were issued each month in 2024, with a peak in November when 16,900 visas were issued. These performances demonstrate the effectiveness of the system and its role in the Moroccan tourism development strategy.
The ministry emphasizes that this initiative is part of a strategic vision aimed at meeting the needs of global tourism, while aligning Morocco’s ambitions with the expectations of international visitors. By digitalizing and simplifying the process of obtaining a visa, the country has strengthened its tourism system, facilitating access to its cultural, natural and heritage riches.
