Kia recalls more than 74,000 Sorentos | Automotive news

Kia has announced the recall of nearly 74,500 copies of its Sorento, including hybrid and plug-in hybrid models. The reason? A software problem in the body systems control unit, responsible for managing the headlights and lights, would be the cause.

Affected vehicles include:

  • •    Sorento 2024-2025
  • • Sorento hybrid and plug-in hybrid 2025

This failure can result in the loss of low beam and headlights, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of an accident.

A free solution for owners
To remedy this problem, Kia is providing a free software update, which can be performed during a visit to the dealership. Affected owners will be informed from February 21, 2025. This recall currently affects American models, but as is almost always the case, this problem also exists here.
